- 1. What if I am traveling in Mexico outside Rocky Point, where else will my phone work?
- We are on the Telcel network, the largest and best in Mexico. Telcel provides coverage throughout Mexico. Like the service in the US, there are areas without coverage, in particular, the coverage on the highways between cities and towns may be spotty, but most every city & town of any size will have good coverage.
- 2. What is the minimum rental period?
- Our minimum rental period is two calendar days. We offer daily and weekly plans.
- 3. How much does it cost to rent a cell phone?
- Daily Rentals are at $15 per calendar day, weekly rentals are at $85 for 7 calendar days. There is a minimum airtime purchase of 50 pesos per calendar day. Optional insurance is $2 per calendar day. All rentals are plus tax.
- 4. Is there a discount for multiple phones and do we both pay when we call each other?
- Additional phones on the same contract receive a $5 per day discount. All incoming calls are always free, regardless of the source, so you only pay for calls that you dial.
- 5. Can I return the phone early?
- Yes, subject to the 2 calendar day minimum and airtime is non-refundable.
- 6. What if I need to cancel a reservation?
- To cancel, simply email us at cancel@rockypointcellphonerental.com any time before midnight the day before the scheduled arrival date. Be sure to include your name, scheduled pick-up date and the confirmation number that you will be emailed once we receive your reservation, if you have it. You will receive an auto-response from our email server that we have received the cancellation email. All reservations require one day notice to avoid a $25 cancellation fee.
- 7. What if I lose or damage the cell phone? Do you offer insurance?
- Optional Insurance is available, but is not required. $2 per calendar day will greatly reduce your liability for lost or damaged phones or accessories. Without insurance, customer pays $150 for a lost or damaged phone; $25 for a lost or damaged charger and $25 for lost case. With insurance, there is a $25 deductible for a lost or damaged phone and a $7 deductible for lost or damaged accessories.
- 8. How do I know how many minutes I have used?
- To check your balance, simply press "2" on your telephone's speed-dial.
- 9. How do I pay?
- Payment by US dollars or Mexican Pesos is due at the time you receive your telephone. A security deposit of $100 cash is required. Deposits are refunded in cash when the equipment is returned.
- 10. What if I need more air-time?
- If you post a cash deposit, you can come by our office to purchase more air-time. If you provide an authorized credit card for security, you can call our office and we can recharge your cell phone remotely for more time.
- 11. What kind of cell phone will I receive?
- We feature all Nokia & Motorola cellular phones.
- 12. Where is Rocky Point Cell Phone Rental located?
- Look for a bright yellow building on the right side, just one block after the 2nd stop light as you come into town. Our building says both “Rocky Point Cell Phone Rental” and “Rocky Point 4 Rent” on it.
- 13. What are the office hours?
- Regular office hours are 9-5, Monday through Saturday; and 8-1 on Sundays and "Holiday Mondays." We are frequently available “after hours” at no additional charge, Please let us know when you plan to arrive.
- 14. Do you deliver and pick up?
- We will deliver and pick up the phone on request for a small service charge. Most in-town locations are subject to a $15 delivery or pick-up charge. Outlying areas are usually $25 for delivery or pick-up. Multiple phone orders are only subject to one delivery or pick-up fee, if all phones are delivered or picked up at the same time. Our delivery hours are the same as our office hours.
- 15. What forms of payment do you accept? Are your fees in dollars or pesos?
- We accept dollars and pesos. All fees quoted are in dollars except airtime is quoted and charged in pesos. Current exchange rate is 10 pesos = 1 US dollar. For your convenience, we can convert your rental to all pesos or all dollars.
